If antidepressants would work, we would by now have eliminated human suffering
Just one quick look into our beautifully crazy world will suffice to see that there seems to be more human suffering, more mental health difficulties than ever before. It is clear that the way we look at, understand and treat mental health “issues” is not resolving but rather prolonging the issue.
No wonder, how could a little pill resolve something that can only and naturally be resolved inside the individual themself. A pill doesn’t have the ability or the power to process for us painful emotions that are alive and live inside of us. As much as we would love for that to be true, it is not. There is no magical pill that will make all our unloved parts and problems vanish. However, the good news is, that there is something much more powerful that will help us overcome internal struggles and it is already installed in each and every one of us.
It is the very same intelligence that is already taking care of healing cuts and physical wounds, regenerating our skin, uninterruptedly through different organs removing toxins from our system etc. This very same intelligence is at work 24/7 without us having to activate it or even think about it. We just let it do its work. And the same applies to emotional wounds. No outer input is required to do the healing of the wound itself. It happens in us. When we let the higher intelligence work its magic, it will process emotions in our systems, even the most painful ones, so that we can become light and free again and go out there and play.
For this is what we are here for, right? To play, enjoy, create experiences, give and receive love, hugs and dance until the day we die. Well, maybe that is just my personal preference but whatever it is that you wish to experience in this life, it is yours. Anything that is standing in your way from going after it, can be resolved inside of you.
So instead of poisoning our bodies with chemical pills that can never compete with the intelligence of our own bodies, we must learn to fully feel. Every emotion, however excruciating it might be, needs to be processed. This means that we stop fighting and avoiding and running from it and turn towards it. We learn to relax into the pain, into the terror and that’s when it can start to release. That’s when true healing can happen.
Disclaimer: This article is for people who don’t believe in antidepressants, who have a strong aversion towards it and wish to free themselves.
There is no one size fits all. Rather than looking for someone else to tell us what to do, we ultimately want to encourage people to think for themselves and make wise decisions based on whatever it is they feel is best for them.
Some people who are taking antidepressants feel that they really help them and make their life more worthwhile. This is a valid experience as well as there is no right or wrong. Always do what you feel is right for you.
Love,
Lana
